Earlier we wrote about nasi goreng spice mix, how easy it is to make your own. There isn't an enormous difference between the two spice mixes, so you can use them for nasi and/or bami. We tried to figure out the theoretical difference, but without success. So this difference is more an opinion than a fact.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon laos
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1,5 teaspoon cardamom
  • 2 teaspoons ground paprika
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley

All these spices can be bought at most supermarkets. You can choose to purchase them already ground for you, but you can easily ground them yourself using a pestle and a mortar. Start with the cardamom, since you can only use the seeds. Once you've removed the pods, you can add the rest of the spices into the mortar. Make a stamp and press movement to get the best result.

Store the spice mix in an airtight jar, such as a preserving jar. This way you will always have a batch of bami goreng spice mix within reach. Enjoy!

We put up an easy bami goreng recipe using this spice mix, hope you like it!
