Our kitchen tour

Our kitchen tour

Our kitchen, where all the good stuff is being prepared. The most important question during our house hunting was obviously; is the kitchen big enough? Oh yes, it is! That's when the fun part started. Sketching and choosing colors, material etc. A few hours later, we were more than happy with the result. The waiting and having no kitchen at all, was horrible. A few months later the moment was finally there, we were SO excited. We could start installing the kitchen with Veronique's dad, the super handy man. Yay!

We are very proud of our kitchen, therefore a foodblogger in the Netherlands made a great article about it. You can check it out here. Most of you can't read it, ok you can google translate, but we thought it would be much better if we made an article about it ourselves.

Our house is almost a 100 years old, so we decided our house didn't match with a very modern kitchen. That's why we mixed and matched a quite old style in a modern kitchen. The most important thing is always that a kitchen is practical and functional. So no glossy cabinets and other things that are hard to clean.

Our kitchen is L-shaped and has a direct connection to the yard. We have cabinets on every possible wall. One side is sort of our baking area with a large countertop, extra oven, large drawers, huge fridge and shelves with lots of preserving jars. We lost count, but you'll probably noticed that we use them for almost everything.

On the other side there's a 5 burner gas stove, sink, and of course a dishwasher, cause who likes to do dishes? Well, we don't. We also have an iPad in the kitchen. Quick and easy for looking up about the cups and inches system we Europeans aren't familiar with ;) But mostly we use it to listen to music during cooking.

And then there's our coffee corner. But sometimes the coffee equipment even needs to make room for the pasta maker and everything is covered in flour instead of coffee. Update: we now have a seperate table for our kitchen equipment ! (2016)
