Dark chocolate sorbet

Ingredients

  • 1 litre water
  • 450 gram sugar
  • 250 gram cocoa powder
  • 200 gram dark chocolate

  • Medium-sized saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Ice cream maker, we've used 'Magimix turbine a glace'
  • An airtight container suitable for the freezer
  • Fine sieve

Preparation -- 10 minutes

Heat water and sugar in a medium-sized saucepan until the sugar has dissolved. Roughly chop up the chocolate and stir it into the water using a whisk.

Sift the cocoa powder and when the chocolate has melted completely and the mixture is smooth, add the cocoa powder. Make sure the mixture is really smooth. Let it cool off completely.

Making the dark chocolate sorbet -- 40 minutes

Pour the mixture into the ice cream maker and let run for about 40 minutes, depending on your machine. When done, remove the ice cream from the ice cream maker and place it into the freezer.
