Preparation -- 5 minutes

Roughly chop the dates and walnuts and mix them together in the medium-sized bowl. Melt the butter, we prefer to do this in a small saucepan on low heat but you can also use a microwave.

Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees celsius or 350 degrees fahrenheit.

Finishing the date and walnut filo pastries -- 20 minutes

Divide a filo dough sheet into 3 strips and coat them with melted butter. The easiest way to do this is using a silicone kitchen brush. Place some of the filling on the bottom of the filo strip and fold it upwards like a triangle.

The filo dough will close easily because of the melted butter. Place the triangles on the oven tray lined with parchment paper and coat the top with some more melted butter.

Bake the filo pastries in the oven for about 10 minutes, depending on your oven. Serve when they're still hot! the warm dates and walnuts will combine very well with some vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
