We're not going to cover how to make mashed potatoes in this recipe. Check out this page for our mashed potatoes recipe.
The total cooking time for this recipe includes the time it will take to prepare the mashed potatoes and the dutch meatballs.
Dice the onions and garlic (check out our “How To” on how to dice onions properly) and set them aside. You can use either a fork or your hands for the next step, but hands are best!
Add the mince to the bowl and break it up a bit. Add the salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, onions and garlic. Now add both eggs and start mixing everything together. when fully combined, shape the mixture into evenly sized meatballs.
Put a large frying pan over a medium-high heat, and add 300 grams of butter. When the butter has melted and is starting to change colour, add the meatballs. Let them cook until their undersides are nicely seared.
Turn over all of the meatballs to allow the other sides to colour. Lower the heat to a medium setting and simmer for around 15 minutes. The meatballs should have a slightly crispy crust.
Serve these simple, but delicious, meatballs with the mashed potatoes and a vegetable side dish; we chose broccoli, but it's totally up to you. enjoy your meal!
