Fig and apple crumble

Ingredients

  • 600 gram fresh figs
  • 2 or more apples e.g. Jonagold or Elstar
  • 120 gram all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 50 gram cane sugar
  • 100 gram almond flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 80 gram dairy butter
  • small handful of hazelnuts

Preparation -- 15 minutes

Rinse the figs, remove the stems and divide them into small pieces. Peel the apples, remove the core and divide into cubes. Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees celsius or 390 degrees fahrenheit and coat the pie dish with butter.

Combine appels and figs and transfer them to the pie dish.

Finishing the fig and apple crumble -- 30 minutes

Coarsely chop the hazelnuts and divide the butter into cubes. Combine butter and hazelnuts with flour, cane sugar, almond flour, a pinch of salt and half a teaspoon of cinnamon in a large bowl.  

Use your fingers to create a crumbled dough. Divide the crumbs over the fruit bake in the oven for about 20 minutes. This crumble can be served hot, lukewarm or cold. Enjoy!
