Preparation -- 10 minutes

Start with a simple raspberry sauce. Heat a handful of (frozen) raspberries along with a tablespoon of sugar and create a sauce by mashing them a bit with a fork.

Don't make the sauce too smooth, the structure of the coarse raspberries makes the sauce even better. Meanwhile combine egg, milk and the other 2 tablespoons of sugar.

For valentine's day we've created heart-shaped bread slices, but you can also just use the slices as they are.

Finishing the french toast with raspberries -- 10 minutes

Heat butter in a skillet and soak the bread shortly in the milk and egg mixture. Make sure both sides are covered but don't let them soak too long otherwise they will become soggy.

Bake the french toast in the skillet until both sides are golden brown. Serve immediately with raspberry sauce, fresh raspberries and if you like some extra powdered sugar. Enjoy!
