Pour the milk into a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil over a medium-high heat. Pour about half into a heatproof milk frother. Froth the milk to a firm foam.
Mix 2 tablespoons of green matcha into the warm milk in the small pan to give it a nice colour. Stir well until an even green colour is achieved.
Divide the hot, green milk between 2 glasses and top with the foam. Sweeten the green tea latte with agave syrup, as desired.
Finish the matcha latte by sprinkling some of the green matcha powder on top of the foam. Enjoy!
Where can you buy matcha?
You can find matcha in health food shops, Asian grocers, and most major supermarkets.
What does matcha taste like?
Matcha has a savoury and nutty flavour, and a distinctive aroma. You could also add some lemon juice to give the drink a fresher taste.
