Ingredients
- 1 large sheet of puff pastry, or use smaller sheets and stick them together
- 1 tablespoon crème fraîche
- pepper and salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- 6 slices of ham
- handful of grana padano
- 1 egg yolk

Kitchen equipment needed
- oven
- oven tray lined with parchment paper
- cling film
- sharp knife
- small bowl
- fork
- silicone kitchen brush
Preparation — 10 minutes
Make sure the puff pastry is large enough to create a roll, if needed you can stick them together with a bit of water. DIVIDE a thin layer of crème fraîche over the puff pastry along with some pepper, salt and oregano. DIVIDE the slices of ham over the puff pastry and finish with some coarsely grated grana padano. ROLL the dough into a large roll and use cling film to create a firm roll. REFRIGERATE the roll about half an hour so it’s easier to cut later on.

Finishing the ham and cheese rolls — 20 minutes
PRE-HEAT the oven 180 degrees Celsius or 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
BEAT the egg yolk with a bit of water to create an egg wash and remove the cling film. COAT the puff pastry roll with egg wash. CUT the roll into quite large pieces and TRANSFER them to the oven tray lined with parchment paper. DIVIDE a bit of grated grana padano over each slice and BAKE in the oven for about 15 minutes. The exact time depends on your oven and the thickness of the pieces. Enjoy!
