Cocktails come and go, but this one has been around quite a while now. For over 200 years, so what’s the deal with this whiskey drink? It’s a strong drink with enough complexity in taste while keeping the essence that makes a whiskey good. Others appreciate this drink because of its simplicity, it’s a cocktail trinity of spirit, sugar and bitters.

Mixing the old fashioned whiskey drink — 5 minutes
Since there’s no preparation needed to make an old fashioned whiskey drink, we can get straight to mixing it. PLACE the sugar cube into the (rocks) whiskey glass, add in 3 dashes of Angostura bitters and a splash of water.
CRUSH the sugar cube thoroughly using a wooden muddler or a strong spoon. POUR in whiskey, fill the glass about half-way. PLACE a few ice cubes in the glass, then stir until well chilled. GARNISH the whiskey drink with an orange twist. This is easily made by cutting a slice off an orange. Enjoy!
