Preparation -- 10 minutes

Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees celsius or 350 degrees fahrenheit. Clean and peel the dutch carrots, shallot and garlic cloves. Slice the carrots, shallot, garlic, celery stalks and red pepper into pieces.

You can choose to remove the red pepper seeds or just leave them for some extra heat. We only wanted a hint of hotness for the ham, so we decided to remove the seeds.

Making orange baked ham -- 1 hour

Arrange the sliced vegetables onto a baking dish. Coat the ham with pepper and salt. Place the ham on top of the veggies and cut the orange in slices. Divide the orange slices over the oven dish and drizzle the veggies and ham with a little bit of honey and olive oil.

Bake the ham in the oven for at least 1 hour, depending on your oven.  keep baking the ham until it has reached an internal temperature of exact 53 degrees celsius or 128 degrees fahrenheit.

Don’t let the ham cook to more than 63 degrees celsius 155 fahrenheit. The ham will taste very dry if you let it heat up too much for too long, so keep this in mind.

Check regularly. Serve immediately, slice into thin slices and enjoy!
