Ingredients
- 600 gram pork fillets
- 1 recipe for gyros spice mix
- handful of cherry tomatoes
- 1/4th cucumber
- 1 garlic clove
- 6 pita breads
- 1 red onion
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- handful of lettuce of your choice
- 1 recipe for garlic sauce (with extra chopped parsley if you like)

Kitchen equipment needed
- cutting board & chef’s knife
- medium-sized bowl
- large skillet
- oven or toaster
Preparation — 15 minutes + waiting time
PEEL the red onion and garlic clove. CHOP the red onion into (half) rings and the garlic clove as fine as possible. DIVIDE the pork fillets into small strips and combine them with gyros spice mix, lemon juice and the finely chopped garlic. Marinate for at least an hour, the longer you’ll wait the tastier the meat will be.
CHOP the cucumber and cherry tomatoes into slices and rinse the lettuce if needed. CREATE the homemade garlic sauce, or use store-bought sauce.

Finishing the pork gyros pitas — 10 minutes
You can heat up the pita breads using an oven or a toaster. HEAT a bit of olive oil in a large skillet and COOK the marinated pork meat for a few minutes on high heat.
SLICE the pitas to open them half way and fill them with lettuce, cucumber, red onion and tomatoes. Also DIVIDE the meat and garlic sauce, enjoy!
