Fill a small saucepan with water, add the egg and bring the water to a boil. Boil the egg for 7 - 9 minutes, depending on how hard-boiled you want it to be.
Shock the egg under cold, running water to make it easier to peel. Cut half a cucumber into wedges, cubes or strips.
Remove the seeds from half a red chilli, then cut it into pieces. Peel the red onion, then chop it. Slice the tomato, peel the egg and cut into pieces.
Take a large bowl and add the mixed salad leaves. Follow this with the tomato, cucumber, red chilli, capers and red onion. Mix everything together well, and add the egg pieces.
Squeeze the juice from half a lemon and mix it into the salad. Pour over olive oil, to taste.
Place the smoked salmon slices on top and season the salad with salt and pepper. Enjoy!
