Strawberry buttermilk ice cream

Ingredients

  • 500 gram strawberries
  • 500 ml buttermilk
  • 100 gram white caster sugar
  • juice of half a lemon
  • splash of elderflower syrup

Preparation -- 10 minutes

Rinse the strawberries and remove the crown. Add the strawberries into the blender along with the sugar and half of the buttermilk.

Blend until smooth and combine with the rest of the buttermilk, a splash of elderflower syrup to taste and juice of half a lemon.

Finishing the strawberry-buttermilk ice cream -- 40 minutes

Pour the strawberry mixture into the ice cream machine and set the timer to 40 minutes. The exact time will depend on the type of ice cream machine you're using.

As soon as the ice cream is ready, scoop it into an airtight container and set in the freezer until ready to serve. Enjoy!
