Taco sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion
  • 1 large clove of garlic
  • 140 gram tomato paste
  • About 100 ml white wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon paprika powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (depending on how spicy you'd like the sauce to be)
  • Pepper and salt to liking

Making the taco sauce -- 15 minutes

PEEL the onion and clove of garlic and cut into small chunks. HEAT up the small saucepan without adding in butter or oil on medium-high heat. SAUTÉ the garlic and onion until glazed.

ADD tomato paste along with the paprika powder, cayenne pepper, chili and cumin. COOK for a few minutes, this is very important to de-acid before adding moisture.

ADD sugar and vinegar, bring to a boil. TURN down the heat and let simmer for a few minutes, or until the onion and garlic has softened up. SEASON with salt and pepper.
