Preparation – 10 minutes + waiting time

Mix flour and a pinch of salt together, then add in 150 gram dairy butter. Dice the butter first for easy mixing. Add in sugar, vanilla extract and the egg.

Mix until a nice dough ball has formed. Wrap the dough ball in cling film, place in the refrigerator and let it sit for about half an hour.

Finishing up the zandkoekjes – 20 minutes

Pre-heat the oven to a temperature of 180 degrees celsius or 355 fahrenheit. Dust your work surface with flour, then roll out the dough until about half a centimeter thick.

Use the cookie cutter to create cookies. Place the cookies on the pre-lined baking tray. Repeat until all of the dough has been used up. Bake the cookies in the oven until golden-brown, this should take about 15 minutes depending on the oven.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool off completely, enjoy!
