When I was much younger, I used to buy these cookies every time I was in Amsterdam (about 9 or 10 times). I wasn't allowed to bring them back into the US, but ate more than my share while there. I've missed them so much I've decided to try to bake some myself even though I've never baked before. In reading the recipe, I'm confused by having to measure out things in Grams. I've been advised that the weight differs depending on what I'm weighing. I don't even have such a scale. I wish the ingredients were shown in American weights. But, I'm determined to muddle thru; I miss those Gevulde Koeken soooo damn much!
