Comments on Split pea soup

Have you ever added a pig's trotter to a split pea soup? It what makes this soup so AMAZING. Serve with rye bread for a great winter evening meal.

Gravatar van Raine Is the pig's foot smoked, fresh raw, or pre-packaged plain or smoked. Essentially, are you using a smoked or non-smoked pig's foot? Which would you recommend?
