Making the mashed potatoes — 30 minutes
We’re not going to cover how to make mashed potatoes on this recipe page. You can check out this page for our mashed potatoes side dish recipe. We’ve increased the total cooking time to match the mashed potatoes and Dutch meatballs.

Preparing the Dutch meatballs — 10 minutes
Dice the onions and garlic. We also have a nice how-to available on how to properly dice onions. Once that’s done set aside and grab a nice big bowl. You’re going either have to use a fork or preferably your hands for the next step, so get exited!
Add the minced meat to the bowl and loosen it up a bit. Add in salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, the onions and garlic. Now add the two eggs and start mixing it together. When it’s mixed properly you can make some nice round balls of the mixture.

Cooking the Dutch meatballs — 20 minutes
Put a large skillet on a medium high fire and add in about 300 grams of butter. When the butter has melted and is starting to change its color add in the meatballs. Let them rest until the bottom part has been nicely seared. Turn over all of the dutch meatballs to let the other side get some heat too. Put the fire on a medium setting. Let simmer for about 15 minutes. The crust has to be a little bit crispy.
Ready to serve
Although this is a very easy recipe it’s one of the better ones! We’ve also cooked some broccoli for a side dish, but it’s totally up to you! Enjoy your meal!
