If you aren't using Chinese cabbage, you can use a larger green cabbage instead.

Preparation - 20 minutes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into chunks. Place them in a large pan and fill it with water and salt. Bring to the boil and rinse the green and Chinese cabbage in the meantime.

Cut the green cabbage quite coarsely and add it to the pan with potatoes.

Peel and finely chop the onions. If you use Chinese cabbage, chop it quite finely.

Finishing the green cabbage stew - 25 minutes

Meanwhile, fry a good handful of cashews in a dry skillet. Transfer them to a small bowl and set aside.

Heat a little butter in the large skillet and sauté the onion for a few minutes. Then fry the Chinese cabbage until it is still a bit crunchy.

Season the Chinese cabbage with 3 tablespoons of sweet soy sauce, pepper and salt. Meanwhile, heat the smoked sausage in a pan with water.

Drain the potatoes and green cabbage and mash them roughly with a potato masher. Stir in the Chinese cabbage and, if you like, add a splash of milk and a knob of butter.

Season with salt, pepper and maybe some more sweet soy sauce. Serve with cashews and smoked sausage slices. Enjoy!
