Preparation -- 10 minutes + waiting time

Combine flour, salt and sugar. Make sure the dairy butter is as cold as possible and cut into small cubes. Add the cubes little by little, the dough will look crumbled.

Then also add ice water little by little until it forms a dough ball. Wrap with cling film and refrigerate for about an hour. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius or 350 degrees Fahrenheit and coat the pie dish with butter.

Finishing the homemade savoury pie crust -- 25 minutes

Dust your work surface and rolling-pin with flour and roll out the dough until it fits in the pie dish. Transfer the dough to the pie dish, you can easily do this by using your rolling-pin.

Press the dough into the pie dish and remove any excess dough. Poke holes in the bottom and place a piece of parchment paper on top.

Fill it with blind baking beans and bake the pie crust about 15 minutes, or until it's lightly coloured.

Remove the blind baking beans and parchment paper. You can now fill the pie crust with all kinds of ingredients, e.g. beets or leeks or any other of our quiches.
