Peel and finely chop the red onion and garlic cloves. Drain the artichokes and divide them into halves. Divide the ham into smaller pieces.
Heat a bit of olive oil in a skillet and sauté the garlic and onion for a few minutes. Add the artichoke halves and cook them some more. Turn down the heat and add 100 ml heavy cream.
Let it simmer a few minutes more until the onion, garlic and artichokes are a bit softened and the sauce has thickened. Season with pepper and salt and serve with pieces of ham and bread for dipping. Enjoy!
