Fill a large saucepan with water, add 1 tablespoon salt and 4 tablespoons sugar and bring to a boil.
Remove the husk and silks from the corn cobs if necessary.
Once the water is boiling, place the corn cobs in the water and cook for about 10 minutes.
Remove the corn cobs from the water and sprinkle them with a little salt.
Garnish the corn on the cob with parsley and serve with a knob of butter. Enjoy your dinner!
Why do you boil corn on the cob in water with sugar?
The sugar in the water used to cook corn on the cob brings out the sweetness of the corn, making it even tastier.
Can I use precooked corn on the cob?
You can use vacuum-packed corn on the cob, which will only require cooking/heating for 5 minutes, but they won’t be as tasty.
