Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into thin strips. Try to cut these thin because thicker fries will be less crispy. Also, try to cut them into equal thicknesses so that all cook at the same time.
Mix the fries with the herbs and a dash of olive oil. Mix well, so that each fry is coated with the herbs and oil; do not use too much oil.
Place the sweet potato fries in the basket of the air fryer. Make sure that they are not stacked together because this will make them less crispy. If necessary, fry them in batches.
Cook the sweet potato fries at 200 degrees Celsius until nice and crisp, this will take about fifteen minutes. Shake the basket every now and then so they get crisp up evenly.
Serve as a side dish, perhaps with a venison steak, or maybe for lunch with tzatziki. Enjoy your meal!
How do I get crispy sweet potato fries?
Make sure that the fries are as dry as possible before you cook them, pat them really dry if necessary.
Why aren't my sweet potato fries crispy?
The sweet potato fries will not get crispy if they are cut too thick, or if they are stacked together during cooking. They will not become crispy unless you use some oil, as they will dry out too much during cooking.
Can I cook these sweet potato fries in the oven?
That is an option, but they will have to bake a little longer. In an air fryer, they become extra crispy and cook really quickly, as an air fryer is a lot smaller than an oven.
What should I serve with sweet potato fries?
Sweet potato fries really go with everything, from meat to fish and many different types of vegetables. They pair with peppers, mushrooms, green cabbage, parsnips, carrots, tomatoes and many more. Goat cheese and tzatziki are also great partners for sweet potato fries.
