Add the egg, the flour and milk to a bowl. Mix until smooth using a whisk. Cut a slice of cheese in half and lay over the 2 slices of bread.
Add a slice of ham in the centre of each, and place more cheese, then a slice of bread on top. Dredge both sides of the the ham and cheese sandwiches in the egg and milk mixture.
Heat a knob of butter in a medium frying pan. Fry both sides of the sandwich until crispy. Cut in half and serve immediately. Enjoy your meal!
tip: you can make the cheese melt even more by baking the sandwich in a preheated oven at 200 degrees celsius for 4 - 5 minutes.
