Using only these simple ingredients you can easily whip up a delicious dessert. A strawberry anise quark is sweet, creamy and very light. Ideal for those hot summer nights, enjoy!

Preparation – 5 minutes

Rinse all of the strawberries and remove the stems using a small knife. Put aside 7 strawberries, we're going to use them a bit later on. Cut 3 strawberries into thin slices and put aside too.

Making the strawberry anise quark dessert – 5 minutes

Put the strawberries apart from the ones we put aside into the blender. Add the cube or stick of anise along with the quark and pour in two tablespoons of sugar. Blend until completely smooth, divide the blended mixture over four (whiskey) glasses.

Quickly clean the inside of your blender, then put in 7 cleaned strawberries along and puré until juicy.  decorate each glass with the strawberry slices and pour over the strawberry juice.

Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 1 day. Enjoy!

What exactly is an anise cube and where does one find such a thing? I in the US and I've never seen or heard of this before. Is it possible to use anise extract instead? If so, how much?

Hello Bonnie, an anise cube can be bought here in Holland in every possible shop and even online (https://www.amazon.com/Ruijter-Anijsblokjes-Little-Anise-Dissolve/dp/B00EV5TARE). We're sorry, but we're not known with all stores around the world, so no clue about the US ;) We're also not familiar with anise extract, so you can add it to taste. Hope you like this dessert anyway :)
