Preparation -- 10 minutes

Get your mortar and pestle and GRIND the caraway seeds and juniper, or skip this step if you already bought ground spices. PEEL and finely chop the garlic cloves.

COMBINE minced meat, chopped garlic, ground spices, beef stock and baking soda with your hands. Season with pepper and salt and set aside.

You can cook them right away or wait a few hours so the flavours will enhance.

Cooking the Romanian grilled minced meat rolls -- 10 minutes

HEAT up your grill or barbecue. Meanwhile, use your hands to form the minced beef mixture into the desired shape. COAT with oil and grill on each side for about 2 to 3 minutes.

Serve with a simple tomato sauce if you like, but we think they're flavorful enough to eat them without sauce.
