ROAST the almond shavings in a dry skillet. Keep an eye on them, they tend to burn very quickly. Let them cool off and meanwhile finely CHOP the basil leaves and set aside.
BEAT the heavy cream until it's about the thickness of yogurt. ADD mascarpone and combine until the mixture is smooth. SEASON with about 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar.
RINSE the strawberries and remove the green parts. CHOP them into quarters and divide a layer of strawberries in each glass. DIVIDE a layer of mascarpone-cream, another layer of strawberries and again mascarpone-cream.
FINISH the dessert with a layer of strawberries, finely chopped basil and roasted almond shavings. Enjoy!
