You can use grilled peppers from a jar, or roast the peppers yourself in the oven or air fryer. Sprinkle them with pepper, salt, and olive oil and roast them until the peppers are soft. The exact baking time depends on the oven.
Peel the red onion and cut it into thin (half) rings. Wash 4 leaves of iceberg lettuce and set aside.

Heat 15 grams butter in a small saucepan and add 15 grams flour. Let this cook gently for 2 minutes to remove the taste of the flour.
Add the milk and whisk to make it smooth and avoid lumps.
Add the grated cheddar and season with mustard, pepper, and salt.
Place the turkey breasts in a food processor and grind them as finely as possible.
Move the turkey to a medium bowl and add the spices: garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and a pinch of cayenne pepper.
Add 1 egg along with 50 grams breadcrumbs and mix well.
Form burgers from the turkey mixture; you can use a hamburger press, but it is not necessary.

Heat a grill pan over high heat. Cut the hamburger buns open and grill the buns briefly.
Brush the turkey burgers with a little olive oil and grill them on both sides until fully cooked. This will take about 10 minutes.
Start with lettuce, then the turkey burger, grilled peppers (without seeds), red onion, jalapeño slices, and finish with cheese sauce.
Serve optionally with fries, enjoy!
What turkey to use to make turkey burgers?
You can use ground turkey, but you can also easily make this yourself by grinding turkey breast or other pieces of turkey in a food processor or chopper.
How long can I store turkey burgers?
You can store raw turkey burgers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, depending on the expiration date of the turkey you used. You can also store them in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Once the turkey burgers are cooked, you can keep them in the refrigerator for 2 days; reheat them briefly in a pan just before serving.
