Preheat the oven to 190 degrees celsius.
Peel the onions and garlic cloves, cut the onions into half moons and the garlic into slices. Clean the brussels sprouts by removing the outer leaves, if necessary.
Make a cross at the bottom so they will cook evenly and mix the brussels sprouts with the onion and garlic.
Drizzle the brussels sprouts with olive oil and season with salt, pepper and half a teaspoon of nutmeg. Mix well, and bake the brussels sprouts in the oven for about half an hour.
The exact baking time depends on the oven and the size of the brussels sprouts. Serve with a simple cheese sauce, if desired, enjoy!
Can I pre-cook the Brussels sprouts?
You can pre-cook the Brussels sprouts so that they then require a shorter baking time. You can also halve the Brussels sprouts before baking them, without the need to pre-cook them.
Can I add any extra ingredients to the baked Brussels sprouts?
You could, for example, add chestnuts or walnuts to this Brussels sprouts dish. It’s also very tasty with cheese sauce and / or a topping of grated parmesan added to the dish once it comes out of the oven.
