If you want to make your own vanilla ice cream, the sundae will be even tastier, although that's actually difficult to believe because this ice cream sundae is already mouthwateringly delicious!
Making chocolate sauce is really simple. Heat double/heavy cream in a small saucepan and add the same quantity of chocolate, broken into pieces. For example, 100 ml cream + 100 g (dark) chocolate. Just stir until it forms a smooth sauce; that's all there is to it.

Make your chocolate sauce and caramel sauce first, unless you are using ready-made, and let them both cool a little.
If you intend to whip your own cream, do that next and, if desired, sweeten the cream with a little (icing) sugar.
Make layers in 2 large sundae glasses of scoops of vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce and nougatine nuts.
Finish with a generous dollop of whipped cream and garnish with more nougatine nuts, sugar sprinkles, a cocktail cherry and a wafer curl. Enjoy!
What is an ice cream sundae?
An ice cream sundae is a dessert with layers of ice cream, sauce and whipped cream. The ice cream does not have to be the firmer setting variety; it can be soft-scoop/soft-serve.
The sauce you use is down to your personal preference. You can go with chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, or a fruity sauce. Both strawberry sauce and raspberry sauce work well.
