Easy beef macaroni is a classic that everyone likes. A true Dutch weekday meal that you can enjoy without spending hours in the kitchen.
This dish is not only tasty, but also budget-friendly. With a few affordable ingredients, you can quickly prepare a solid and delicious meal. Both young and old love it! Want to make it even cheaper? Try replacing the beef with ham cubes, which is just as tasty and just as easy.
For me, this is a classic that should not be missing throughout the year!

Preparation - 10 minutes
Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Meanwhile, prepare the ingredients.
Wash and slice a whole leek into rings. Wash it again in a colander or sieve to make sure there is no sand left.
Crush a clove of garlic and chop it as finely as possible.
Wash the red and yellow bell peppers and cut them into small cubes.

Finishing the beef macaroni - 15 minutes
Once the water in the large pot is boiling, add the macaroni and cook until al dente.
Heat a good splash of olive oil or a knob of butter in the deep frying pan over medium heat.
Add the beef and cook it until it's almost crumbly. Then add the chopped garlic and leek and cook for about 5 minutes.
Add the tomato paste and stir well. Lastly, add the bell pepper cubes and lower the heat slightly.
Season the sauce with macaroni spice mix (very easy to make yourself) and let it cook through.
Once the macaroni is al dente, drain it. Add the cooked macaroni to the deep frying pan and mix everything well.
Taste and add more macaroni spices if desired.
Serve the beef macaroni in a deep pasta bowl with grated Parmesan cheese, enjoy!
