Making olive tapenade with garlic and capers - 10 minutes
Peel the garlic cloves and chop them roughly.
Use a (small) food processor or chopper to puree the olives together with the garlic.

Add 1 tablespoon of capers, 1 teaspoon of dried thyme, 5 tablespoons of olive oil, the zest of half a lemon, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
Puree until smooth and season the olive tapenade with pepper and salt.
Serve with grissini (breadsticks), bread, or crackers as part of a snack platter. Enjoy!
What olives to use for olive tapenade?
You can use any type of olives for making olive tapenade, as long as they are pitted. I personally think it’s a waste to use expensive and/or marinated olives, so the cheapest ones are perfect for a tapenade since you'll be adding plenty of flavorings.
How long can I store olive tapenade?
You can store olive tapenade well-covered in the fridge for up to 5 days.
