Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees celsius or 390 degrees fahrenheit. Fill the medium-sized pan with water and salt and bring to a boil.
Remove the outer leaves of the brussels sprouts and cook them for a few minutes. Transfer the brussels sprouts to the oven dish using the skimmer.
During the cooking-process they'll lose a bit of their purple color.
You can peel a pomelo like you would peel an orange. They're very alike, a pomelo also has wedges, but very large ones. Divide the pomelo into pieces and combine them with the brussels sprouts.
Drizzle with olive oil, honey, pepper and salt. Divide the star anise in between and bake in the oven for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Delicious and easy side dish, for example with a leg of lamb during Christmas.
