Preparation – 15 minutes

Combine the apple juice, white wine, sugar, cinnamon sticks and star anise in the medium-sized pan. Peel the pears and remove a part of the core on the bottom.

During peeling it is recommended to place them into cold water with a little bit of lemon to prevent them from discolouring.

Create a round piece of parchment paper that fits exactly into the pan and cut a small hole in the middle.

Finishing the poached pears in apple juice – 3 hours

Place the peeled pears into the apple juice mixture and cover with the round piece of parchment paper. Don't let it come to a boil and simmer on low heat for about 2,5 to 3 hours.

Or until the pears are softened enough, you can easily check this with a sharp small knife. Enjoy this lovely poached pears with ice cream for a perfect autumn dessert. Or even as a side dish for meat.
