This classic dessert is very easy! A French chocolate flan is sort of a crème brûlée without the sugar topping. A creamy pudding, baked in the oven.

PRE-HEAT the oven to 160 degrees Celsius or 320 degrees Fahrenheit. PLACE the ramekins in a large oven dish. HEAT milk in a medium-sized pan.
CHOP the chocolate bar into smaller pieces and stir them into the warm milk. Let it simmer for a few minutes and stir with a whisk until you've reached a smooth sort of 'chocolate milk'.
COMBINE eggs with 2 sachets of vanilla sugar, pinch of salt and 75 gram sugar. Gradually ADD the warm chocolate milk to the eggs and divide the mixture over 8 ramekins.
FILL the oven dish with a layer of water to create a bain-marie. BAKE the flans in the oven for about 30 minutes, depending on your oven. Let the flans cool off completely before serving, enjoy!
