- 7 garlic cloves (preferably french pink garlic)
- 100 gram pine nuts
- 50 gram grated parmesan cheese (grana padano)
- 75 gram dairy butter on room temperature
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 3 eggs
- 200 ml cream
- salt to taste
Kitchen equipment needed
- round pie dish (about 26 cm – 10 inches)
- silicone brush
- cutting board & chef’s knife or garlic press
- medium-sized bowl
Preparation — 15 minutes
Coat the pie dish with butter and puff pastry. Create some holes in the bottom of the puff pastry using a fork. Pre-heat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius or 340 degrees Fahrenheit.
Peel and finely chop the garlic cloves, or use a garlic press. Combine garlic with soft butter in a medium-sized bowl and also add the pine nuts and finely grated cheese. As soon as the mixture is mixed well you can divide it over the bottom of the puff pastry. Make sure the bottom is covered completely.
Beat the eggs along with cream in the medium-sized bowl and season with salt.
Finishing the french garlic and pine nuts pie — 40 minutes
Pour the egg mixture on top and bake until it’s beautiful golden brown, that will take about 40 minutes.
Serve immediately, for example with a lovely simple green salad. Enjoy!
