Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
Wash the asparagus if needed and remove the tough ends. You can cut off about 2 cm from the bottom or snap it off. The asparagus will break right where it starts to get woody.
Usually, there's no need to peel green asparagus, but some times it's recommended if the asparagus are older or very thick. Thick ones can get stringy.

Divide the asparagus on a small baking tray and drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle a handful of finely grated Parmesan cheese over the asparagus.
Roast the asparagus in the oven for about 15 minutes. The exact time depends on your oven and how thick the asparagus are. They taste best when they are still a little crunchy.
Finish with the zest of half a lemon and serve right away. Enjoy!
