Ingredients
- 2 baby romaine lettuce heads (little gem)
- about 10 small sour pickles
- 1/2 red onion
- small piece of ginger root (about 1 cm – 0.4 inch)
- 1 lime
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- about 150 gram crème fraîche
- salt to taste

Kitchen equipment needed
- medium-sized bowl
- fine grater
- cutting board & chef’s knife
- optional: citrus grater and juicer
- optional: salad spinner
Preparation — 5 minutes
Start making the dressing in a medium-sized bowl. Peel and finely grate the ginger root. Grate the peel of the lime to create zeste and squeeze the juice from the lime. Combine grated ginger, lime zeste, lime juice and cumin along with crème fraîche and season with salt.

Finishing the crème fraîche and cumin salad — 5 minutes
Rinse the lettuce if needed and remove any excess water with a salad spinner. Divide the pickles in half. Peel the red onion and chop into half rings. Combine lettuce with dressing, pickles and red onion. Serve this easy salad as a side dish at a barbecue, enjoy!
