Preparation -- 15 minutes

FILL a pan with water and salt and bring to a boil, you can also use vegetable stock instead of salt. COOK the macaroni until they're al dente, the exact cooking time depends on the type of pasta you're using.

Meanwhile PRE-HEAT the oven to 180 degrees Celsius or 350 degrees Fahrenheit and coat the oven dish with butter. STIR crème fraîche, eggs and boursin with a whisk until you've reached a smooth mixture.

Finishing the macaroni and boursin gratin -- 40 minutes

DRAIN the macaroni in a colander and stir the macaroni into the boursin mixture along with the ham. SEASON with pepper and salt. DIVIDE the mixture over the oven dish and divide a large handful of grated cheese over the top.

DIVIDE a handful of bread crumbs and some small pieces of dairy butter on top of the cheese. BAKE the gratin in the oven for about 30 minutes, or until the cheese is beautifully golden brown.

SERVE with a green salad if you like, enjoy!
