Peel and finely chop the red onion and garlic cloves. Chop the tomatoes in small pieces, you can choose to remove the seeds first.
Finely chop the chili pepper, for extra spiciness you can also add the seeds.
Combine red onion, garlic, tomatoes and chili pepper along with a dash of olive oil and white wine vinegar. Grate the zest of the lemon and finely chop the basil leaves.
Season with pepper and salt. Enjoy!
