Ingredients
- 1 large round or oval-shaped bread – or bake your own bread, e.g. double this recipe
- 1 large camembert
- 200 gram smoked bacon lardons
- few sprigs of thyme

Kitchen equipment needed
- oven
- oven tray lined with parchment paper
- sharp knife
- small skillet
Preparation — 5 minutes
Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius or 390 degrees Fahrenheit. Add bacon lardons to a small skillet and cook until they’re crispy.

Finishing the baked camembert in bread — 15 minutes
Place the camembert on top of the bread and cut around the bread with a sharp knife to create a hole. Add the bacon to the hole and place the camembert on top. Remove the top of the cheese and place a few sprigs of thyme on top of the cheese and place the top of the cheese back.

Bake the bread in the oven for about 10 minutes, until the cheese has melted nicely. Don’t bake it for too long, otherwise the bread will become too hard. Serve the bread into slices so you’ll have some cheese and bacon will every bite. Serve with a simple green salad, enjoy!
